A flower she holds
in weak hands, ripping its dull petals from the stem.
If it's not because of the centipede
crawling its way between the strands of her hair
or of the charcoal butterfly,
dead and pinned to her locks.
The spider creeping across her collarbone... Her eyes are wet,
and like a mirror
